Eating outside is a delight and I like to
use it as my weekend getaway from cooking. Foodies like me love to experiment
with food and visit best restaurants in Mumbai. For this reason I am constantly on a lookout for cool and new
places that serve great food. However, in my search, often times I end up being
disappointed with either the food, treatment or ambience. It seems to me as a
waste of money and time whenever I end up at a place I don’t like. So, am now
using a few funny ways of investing my money and time only in restaurants in
Mumbai that I would like. It takes some time on the internet which I anyway
spend. So it is not much of a pain actually.
Firstly, the foremost means of knowing
about a place is the word of mouth and newspaper advertisement. I believe that
first hand experiences and how a place presents itself to the intellectual
public, tells a lot about its ambience. Being from the advertisement industry,
I know the amount of hard work and thought goes behind a simple ad. So it is
not hard to point out a well thought out creative ad. It tells how much they
value public impression and often similar treatment is observed at the place as
well.
Second, I look at their reviews on reputed
websites such as zomato. I particularly take interest in negative ones and how
they have responded to it. Positive ones are a time waste. I am not saying that
a person complaining about a restaurant puts me off, instead there way of
responding to that complain arouses my interest. If they are pleasant,
apologetic and willing to make amends then you know that customer experience
matters to them, otherwise no matter how many stars they have got it’s a waste
of time.
Thirdly, I ask friends in different cities
of their favourite places and check whether they have outlets in Mumbai as
well. One of my friends recommended a particular eatery for having burger in Delhi, and I was lucky enough
to find the store in my city. Since then I have stuck to this method.
Hope these work for you as well.
