Confessions of a Glutton

A good meal is divine bliss –at least for me. And I’m sure many of you will agree! For every glutton at heart, good food (or just about anything that’s edible) is the best part of the day. Not to undermine a stimulating education or a job or anything, but when I go to bed each night, when I think back about the events of the day –if a phenomenal meal had been consumed, it’s the absolute highlight of the day!

Does this sound just a tad bit crazy? Well, then go ahead and call me crazy, because I’m crazy for food! If I were to pick between my loves ones and the best Tenderloin Steak, honestly, it’d be quite a hard decision.

Yes, I’m a relentless glutton. A good meal, for me, is the very definition of contentment. Just the thought of some succulent best Tenderloin Steak or a big juicy burger or even just a bowl of rajma chawal gives me goose bumps –I kid you not!

I’ve reached a point where I just couldn’t care less about my weight; a good meal is worth having, even if it’s a million calories! So with my carefree foodie attitude, you’re bound to find me sitting at one of the many, many amazing restaurants in Delhi, gorging away on some dish or the other every other day (or at least every weekend, for sure, depending on the state of the contents of my wallet).

And so with my love for food, I’m always scouting out a Famous restaurant in vasant kunj or the best restaurants in Saket, or Hauz Khas, or Khan Market or even anywhere on the periphery of the glorious city of Delhi. With all the amazing eateries, I’m pretty sure the city of Delhi is a glutton at heart too –just like me!

My Sweet Home Bar

Keen on having home bar? Well, yes it’s certainly going to be a challenging task. There’s sea difference in merely wishing to have ambience similar to the bar that you have had visited recently and having it at the home bar. Well, experience counts and this is what is instigating me to say this.

I am a Mumbai locale, and now i don’t think i need to further justify anything. This place is famous for its nightlife and so as restaurants in Bangalore adds on to the charm of this beautiful place. I worked for around three years in a private firm in Bangalore and there i did not have to think much. I was accommodated in a flat, which was given to me by the company. I had a small sweet corner, restaurant in Bangalore which was a virtual spa-center to me. Well, having least said, even till the day, i miss the sweet-own-corner.

So post leaving the job, when i came to Mumbai, it became really difficult for me to adjust. But yes, luckily i as able to give my small bar again the similar cozy touch that i was missing out on a lot. So those who are planning to set up a home bar in Mumbai, the only thing that i would personally suggest is don’t overboard vibrant shades and bling. A home bar won’t be the place wherein every other hour you’ll be going to, but yes, might be a possibility that ideal setting might keep you hooked for hours and hours. Got the difference?? Go for it! So better that you keep a check over it! Have dim lit ambience instead of going too very high with ambience and so as with shades to give that ‘perfect’ look to the place.

A Smoked Lamb Burger is a Day’s Worth

The juiciest bite on a stretched out day can be nothing other than something filling and easy to find. And what more for that than a nice fluffed up burger! It’s not for nothing that the burger tops everything else listed down as convenience foods. And if you can get to lay your hands on one of the smoked lamb burger at Smoke House Deli—voila!

smoked lamb burger

Count yourself blessed if you were at this very chic snack bar restaurant in hauz khas last week when the ‘mmmBurger festival’ was on. There is nothing than can come close to defining the whole experience except—I want to be there again, and then again!

It’s their innovations that make the place truly a ‘mouthful’. By putting some thinking behind it, Smoke House Deli has beautifully worked putting a spin to its a la carte. What really had me drooling over were the Beer and Cheese burger and the fish chips burger; the winners of the day! I must confess here that the Smoked Chicken and Tequila Burger along with the Spicy Soya Chunks and Spinach Burger looked irresistible on the spread—only if I my stomach could go that far.

Burgers in itself can be a crowd puller, but with complimentary beverages, there’s no ‘saying no’. That’s perhaps why I was left with a wanting for more when I got my drinks complimentary against my meal. And that goes all through the weekdays!
